ಅಥ ಸಪ್ತಮಸ್ಸರ್ಗಃ

ಶ್ಲೋ|| ಸ ವೇಶ್ಮಜಾಲಂ ಬಲವಾನ್ ದದರ್ಶ
ವ್ಯಾಸಕ್ತ ವೈಢೂರ್ಯಸುವರ್ಣಜಾಲಮ್|
ಯಥಾಮಹತ್ಪ್ರಾವೃಷಿ ಮೇಘಜಾಲಮ್
ವಿದುತ್ಪಿನದ್ಧಂ ಸವಿಹಙ್ಗಜಾಲಮ್||1||

ಸ||ಬಲವಾನ್ ಸಃ ಹನುಮಾನ್ ಯಥಾ ಪ್ರಾವೃಷಿ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ಪಿನದ್ಧಮ್ ಮಹತ್ ಮೇಘಜಾಲಂ ತಥಾ ವ್ಯಾಸಕ್ತ ವೈಢೂರ್ಯಸುವರ್ಣಜಾಲಂ ಸವಿಹಙ್ಗಜಾಲಂ ವೇಶ್ಮಜಾಲಂ ದದರ್ಶ ||

The mighty Hanuman saw the group of mansions, having golden lattices encrusted with Vaidhurya. They resembled masses of rain clouds illuminated by streaks of lightnings with flights of birds below.

ಶ್ಲೋ|| ನಿವೇಶನಾನಾಂ ವಿವಿಧಾಶ್ಚಶಾಲಾಃ
ಪ್ರಧಾನಶಙ್ಖಾಯುಧಚಾಪಶಾಲಾಃ|
ಮನೋಹರಾಶ್ಚಾಪಿಪುನರ್ವಿಶಾಲಾಃ
ದದರ್ಶ ವೇಶ್ಮಾದ್ರಿಷು ಚನ್ದ್ರಶಾಲಾಃ||2||

ಸ||(ಸಃ ಹನುಮಾನ್) ಪ್ರಧಾನಶಙ್ಖಾಯುಥಚಾಪಶಾಲಾಃ ವಿವಿಧಾಃ ಶಾಲಾಃ ನಿವೇಶನಾನಾಮ್ ದದರ್ಶ|ಪುನಃ ವೇಶ್ಮಾದ್ರಿಷು ಮನೋಹರಾಃ ವಿಶಾಲಾಃ ಚನ್ದ್ರಶಾಲಾಃ ಚ ದದರ್ಶ||

There Hanuman saw several places for storing valuable conches, weapons and bows among those mansions, again he saw delightful and spacious terraces open to the skies on top of those houses.

ದೇವಾಸುರೈಶ್ಚಾಪಿ ಸುಪೂಜಿತಾನಿ|
ಸರ್ವೈಶ್ಚ ದೋಷೈಃ ಪರಿವರ್ಜಿತಾನಿ
ಕಪಿರ್ದದರ್ಶ ಸ್ವಬಲಾರ್ಜಿತಾನಿ||3||

ಸ|| (ಸಃ ಮಹಾ) ಕಪಿಃ (ತತ್) ಗೃಹಾಣಿ ಸರ್ವೈಶ್ಚ ದೇವಾಃ ಸುರೈಃ ಚಾಪಿ ಸುಪೂಜಿತಾನಿ ಸ್ವಬಲಾರ್ಜಿತಾನಿ ದೋಷೈಃ ಪರಿವರ್ಜಿತಾನಿ ನಾನಾವಸುರಾಜಿತಾನಿ ದದರ್ಶ||

The houses were having different kinds of treasures cherished even by gods. The treasures were without blemishes and were won by Ravana with his own might.

ಮಯೇವ ಸಾಕ್ಷಾದಿವ ನಿರ್ಮಿತಾನಿ|

ದದರ್ಶ ಲಙ್ಕಾಧಿಪತೇರ್ಗೃಹಾಣಿ||4||

ಸ|| ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಾಭಿ ಸಮಾಹಿತಾನಿ ಸರ್ವಗುಣೋತ್ತರಾಣಿ ಲಙ್ಕಾಧಿಪತೇಃ ಗೃಹಾಣಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ ಮಯೇವ ನಿರ್ಮಿತಾನಿ ಭವನಾನಿ ಇವ ಹನುಮಾನ್ ದದರ್ಶ||

Built with great care and effort, the excellent mansions of the king of Lanka looked like the mansions built by Maya ( the divine architect) himself.

ಮನೋಹರಂ ಕಾಞ್ಚನಚಾರುರೂಪಮ್|

ಗೃಹೋತ್ತಮಂ ಹ್ಯಪ್ರತಿರೂಪರೂಪಮ್||5||

ಸ|| (ತತ್) ರಕ್ಷೋಧಿಪಸ್ಯ ಉತ್ತಮಮ್ ಗೃಹಮ್ ದದರ್ಶ | (ತತ್ ಗೃಹಮ್) ಮನೋಹರಂ ಕಾಂಚನಚಾರುರೂಪಂ ಅಪ್ರತಿರೂಪರೂಪಂ ರಕ್ಷೋಧಿಪಸ್ಯ ಆತ್ಮಬಲಾನುರೂಪಂ ಅಸ್ತಿ| ತತ್ ಗೃಹಂ ಉಚ್ಛ್ರಿತಮೇಘರೂಪಂ ಇವ ಅಸ್ತಿ||

Hanuman saw the excellent palace of the king of Rakshasas. It was beautiful with the the splendor of gold . It was matchless and worthy of his own might. That palace was appearing like a towering cloud.

ಶ್ಲೋ|| ಮಹೀತಲೇ ಸ್ವರ್ಗಮಿವ ಪ್ರಕೀರ್ಣಮ್
ಶ್ರಿಯಾಜ್ವಲನ್ತಂ ಬಹುರತ್ನ ಕೀರ್ಣಮ್|
ನಾನಾತರೂಣಾಂ ಕುಸುಮಾವಕೀರ್ಣಮ್
ಗಿರೇರಿವಾಗ್ರಂ ರಜಸಾವಕೀರ್ಣಮ್||6||

ಸ|| ಶ್ರಿಯಾ ಜ್ವಲನ್ತಂ (ತತ್ ಗೃಹಮ್) ಮಹೀತಲೇ ಪ್ರಕೀರ್ಣಮ್ ಸ್ವರ್ಗಮಿವ (ಅಸ್ತಿ)| ನಾನಾತರೂಣಾಂ ಕುಸುಮಾವಕೀರ್ಣಂ ರಜಸಾ ಗಿರೇಃ ಅಗ್ರಂ ಇವ (ತತ್ ಗೃಹಮ್ ಅಸ್ತಿ)||

Glittering with riches that mansion was like heaven scattered on the earth. That mansion looked like a mountain top covered with flowers of all kinds of trees.

ಶ್ಲೋ|| ನಾರೀಪ್ರವೇಕೈರಿವ ದೀಪ್ಯಮಾನಮ್
ತಟಿದ್ಭಿ‍ರಮ್ಭೋದವ ದರ್ಚ್ಯಮಾನಮ್|
ಹಂಸಪ್ರವೇಕೈರಿವ ವಾಹ್ಯಮಾನಮ್
ಶ್ರಿಯಾಯುತಂ ಖೇ ಸುಕೃತಾಂ ವಿಮಾನಮ್||7||

ಸ|| ತತ್ ಸುಕೃತಾಂ ವಿಮಾನಮ್ ಅರ್ಚಮಾನಮ್ ನಾರೀಪ್ರವೇಕೈಃ ಶ್ರಿಯಾ ಯುತಂ (ಅಸ್ತಿ)| ಅಮ್ಭೋದವತ್ ದೀಪ್ಯಮಾನಂ ತಟಿದ್ಭಿಃ ಇವ ಅಸ್ತಿ| ಖೇ ಹಂಸಪ್ರವೈಕೈಃ ವಾಹ್ಯಮಾನಮ್ ಇವ ಅಸ್ತಿ||

That royal aerial chariot auspicious and worthy of worship was filled with resplendent women. It was like the rain clouds lit with lightning. It was as if drawn by swans in the sky.

ಶ್ಲೋ|| ಯಥಾ ನಗಾಗ್ರಂ ಬಹುಧಾತುಚಿತ್ರಮ್
ಯಥಾ ನಭಶ್ಚ ಗ್ರಹಚನ್ದ್ರಚಿತ್ರಮ್|
ದದರ್ಶಯುಕ್ತೀಕೃತ ಮೇಘಚಿತ್ರಮ್
ವಿಮಾನರತ್ನಂ ಬಹುರತ್ನ ಚಿತ್ರಮ್||8||

ಸ|| ತತ್ ವಿಮಾನರತ್ನಂ ಬಹುರತ್ನ ಚಿತ್ರಂ ಅಸ್ತಿ| (ತತ್ ವಿಮಾನಮ್) ಯಥಾ ಬಹುಧಾತುಚಿತ್ರಮ್ ನಗಾಗ್ರಂ ಇವ ಯಥಾ ಯುಕ್ತೀಕೃತ ಮೇಘಚಿತ್ರಂ ಇವ ಯಥಾ ನಭಶ್ಚ ಗ್ರಹಚನ್ದ್ರ ಚಿತ್ರಂ ಇವ ಅಸ್ತಿ ||

That best of aerial chariots was colorful on account of gems encrusted. It was like a mountain peak which was colorful because of many the minerals embedded in the mountain. It was like a mass of colorful clouds. It was like the sky which was looking colorful with planets and Moon.

ಶೈಲಾಃ ಕೃತಾ ವೃಕ್ಷವಿತಾನಪೂರ್ಣಾ|
ವೃಕ್ಷಾಃ ಕೃತಾ ಪುಷ್ಪವಿತಾನಪೂರ್ಣಾಃ
ಪುಷ್ಪಂ ಕೃತಂ ಕೇಸರ ಪತ್ರ ಪೂರ್ಣಮ್||9||

ಸ|| ಯತ್ರ ಪರ್ವತ ರಾಜಿ ಪೂರ್ಣಾ ಮಹೀ (ಚಿತ್ರೀ) ಕೃತಾ | ಯತ್ರ ವೃಕ್ಷ ವಿತಾನಪೂರ್ಣಾ ಶೈಲಾಃ (ಚಿತ್ರೀ) ಕೃತಾ | ಯತ್ರ ವೃಕ್ಷಾಃ ಪುಷ್ಪವಿತಾನಪೂರ್ಣಾ (ಇವ ಚಿತ್ರೀ ) ಕೃತಾ | ಯತ್ರ ಪುಷ್ಪಮ್ ಕೇಸರಪತ್ರಪೂರ್ಣಮ್ ಚಿತ್ರೀಕೃತಾ | (ತತ್ ವಿಮಾನಂ ಹನುಮಾನ್ ದದರ್ಶ) ||

The earth was drawn filled with mountain ranges. The mountains were drawn with canopy of trees, the trees were drawn filled with lovely flowers. The flowers were drawn filled with petals and filaments.

ಶ್ಲೋ|| ಕೃತಾನಿ ವೇಶ್ಮಾನಿಚ ಪಾಣ್ಡುರಾಣಿ
ತಥಾ ಸುಪುಷ್ಪಾಣ್ಯಪಿ ಪುಷ್ಕರಾಣಿ|
ಪುನಶ್ಚ ಪದ್ಮಾನಿ ಸ ಕೇಸರಾಣಿ
ಧನ್ಯಾನಿ ಚಿತ್ರಾಣಿ ತಥಾ ವನಾನಿ||10||

ಸ|| ಯಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಪಾಂಡುರಾಣಿ ವೇಶ್ಮಾನಿ ಚ (ಚಿತ್ರೀ) ಕೃತಾನಿ | ತಥೈವ ಯಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಪುಷ್ಪಾಣಿ ಸಹ ಪುಷ್ಕರಾಣಿ (ಚಿತ್ರೀಕೃತಾನಿ)| ಪುನಃ ಯಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಕೇಸರಾಣಿ ಸಃ ಪದ್ಮಾನಿ (ಚಿತ್ರೀ ಕೃತಾನಿ) | ಯಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಧನ್ಯಾನಿ ವನಾನಿ ಚಿತ್ರಾಣಿ ಚಿತ್ರೀಕೃತಾನಿ (ತತ್ ವಿಮಾನಮ್ ದದರ್ಶ)||

The mansions were drawn in white color. The ponds were drawn with flowers. The flowers were drawn again with petals. Paintings of complete gardens were drawn.

ಶ್ಲೋ|| ಪುಷ್ಪಾಹ್ವಯಂ ನಾಮ ವಿರಾಜಮಾನಂ
ರತ್ನಪ್ರಭಾಭಿಶ್ಚ ವಿವರ್ಥ ಮಾನಮ್|
ವೇಶ್ಮೋತ್ತಮಾನಾ ಮಪಿ ಚೋಚ್ಚಮಾನಮ್
ಮಹಾಕಪಿಸ್ತತ್ರ ಮಹಾವಿಮಾನಮ್||11||

ಸ|| ಮಹಾಕಪಿಃ ತತ್ರ ಪುಷ್ಪಾಹ್ವಯಂ ನಾಮ ವಿರಾಜಮಾನಂ ಮಹಾ ವಿಮಾನಂ (ದದರ್ಶ)| ತತ್ ವಿಮಾನಂ ರತ್ನ ಪ್ರಭಾಭಿಃ ಚ ವಿವರ್ಧಮಾನಂ | ತತ್ ವಿಮಾನಂ ವೇಶ್ಮೋತ್ತಮಾನಾಂ ಅಪಿ ಉಚ್ಚ್ಯಮಾನಂ ಅಸ್ತಿ|

The great Vanara saw a aerial car going by the name of Pushpaka. That aerial car was glowing with the glitter of gems. That aerial was taller than the magnificent mansions.

ಶ್ಲೋ|| ಕೃತಾಶ್ಚ ವೈಢೂರ್ಯಮಯಾ ವಿಹಙ್ಗಾಃ
ರೂಪ್ಯಪ್ರವಾಳೈಶ್ಚ ತಥಾ ವಿಹಙ್ಗಾಃ|
ಚಿತ್ರಾಶ್ಚ ನಾನಾವಸುಭಿರ್ಭುಜಙ್ಗಾಃ
ಜಾತ್ಯಾನುರೂಪಾಸ್ತುರಗಾ ಶ್ಶುಭಾಙ್ಗಾಃ||12||

ಸ|| ವೈಢೂರ್ಯಮಾನಾಃ ವಿಹಙ್ಗಾಃ ಕೃತಾಃ | ತಥೈವ ರೂಪ್ಯಪ್ರವಾಳೈಶ್ಚ ಕೃತಾಃ ವಿಹಙ್ಗಾಃ | ಚಿತ್ರಾಃ ಭುಜಙ್ಗಾಃ ನಾನಾವಸುಭಿಃ ಕೃತಾಃ | ತುರಂಗಾಃ ಜಾತ್ಯಾನುರೂಪಾಃ ಶುಭಾಙ್ಗಾಃ ಅಪಿ ಕೃತಾಃ||

The birds were made of Vaiduryas. Similarly the birds were made of silver and corals. Colorful serpents were made with gems. Well bred horses with auspicious limbs were drawn.

ಶ್ಲೋ|| ಪ್ರವಾಳಜಾಮ್ಬೂನದಪುಷ್ಪಪಕ್ಷಾಃ
ಸಲೀಲ ಮಾವರ್ಜಿತಜಿಹ್ಮಪಕ್ಷಾಃ|
ಕಾಮಸ್ಯ ಸಾಕ್ಷಾದಿವ ಭಾನ್ತಿ ಪಕ್ಷಾಃ
ಕೃತಾವಿಹಙ್ಗಾ ಸ್ಸುಮುಖಾಸ್ಸುಪಕ್ಷಾಃ||13||

ಸ|| ವಿಹಙ್ಗಾಃ ಸುಪಕ್ಷಾಃ ಪ್ರವಾಲಜಾಮ್ಬೂನದಪುಷ್ಪಪಕ್ಷಾಃ ಸ ಲೀಲಂ ಆವರ್ಜಿತಜಿಹ್ಮ ಪಕ್ಷಾಃ ಕೃತಾಃ| ಸಾ ವಿಹಙ್ಗಾಃ ಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ ಕಾಮಸ್ಯ ಪಕ್ಷಾಃ ಇವ ಬಾನ್ತಿ||

Birds having beautiful wings, with wings engraved in corals and gold, with artificial wings sportively bent were drawn. The birds (wings) were as if they were wings of the cupid, the god of love.

ಶ್ಲೋ|| ನಿಯುಜ್ಯಮಾನಾಸ್ತು ಗಜಾಸ್ಸುಹಸ್ತಾಃ
ಸ ಕೇಸರಾಶ್ಚೋತ್ಪಲಪತ್ತ್ರಹಸ್ತಾಃ|
ಬಭೂವ ದೇವೀ ಚ ಕೃತಾ ಸುಹಸ್ತಾ
ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀಸ್ತಥಾ ಪದ್ಮಿನಿ ಪದ್ಮಹಸ್ತಾ||14||

ಸ|| ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀಃ ಪದ್ಮಿನೀ ಪದ್ಮಹಸ್ತಾ ಸುಹಸ್ತಾ ಚ ಸಕೇಸರಾಶ್ಚ ದೇವೀ ಚ ಕೃತಾ ಬಭೂವ| ತಥಾ ಉತ್ಪಲಪತ್ರಹಸ್ತಾಃ ನಿಯುಜ್ಯಮಾನಾಃ ಗಜಾಃ ಅಸ್ತು ||

Goddess Lakshmi in lotus pond having beautiful hands holding lotus in her hands along with filaments was seen. Elephants carrying blue lotuses with their trunks as offerings to the Goddess were seen too.

ಶ್ಲೋ|| ಇತೀವ ತದ್ಗೃಹಮಭಿಗಮ್ಯ ಶೋಭನಮ್
ಸವಿಶ್ಮಯೋ ನಗಮಿವ ಚಾರು ಶೋಭನಮ್|
ಪುನಶ್ಚ ತತ್ಪರಮಸುಗನ್ಧಿ ಸುನ್ದರಮ್
ಹಿಮಾತ್ಯಯೇ ನಗಮಿವ ಚಾರುಕನ್ದರಮ್||15||

ಸ|| ಹನುಮಾನ್ ಇತೀವ ಶೋಭನಮ್ ಚಾರುಶೋಭನಮ್ ನಗಮಿವ ತತ್ ಗೃಹಂ ಅಭಿಗಮ್ಯ ಸವಿಸ್ಮಯಃ ಭವತಿ|| (ತತಃ) ಪುನಶ್ಚ ತತ್ (ಗೃಹಂ) ಹಿಮಾತ್ಯಯೇ ನಗಮಿವ ಪರಮಸುಗನ್ಧಿ ಸುನ್ದರಮ್ ಚಾರುಕನ್ದರಂ ದದರ್ಶ||

Thus Hanuman reached the auspicious and beautiful palace appearing like a mountain and was wonder struck. Again he saw the palace as a mountain in spring time with beautiful caves filled with wonderful fragrance.

ಶ್ಲೋ|| ತತಃ ಸ ತಾಂ ಕಪಿ ರಭಿಪತ್ಯ ಪೂಜಿತಾಂ
ಚರನ್ ಪುರೀಂ ದಶಮುಖಬಾಹುಪಾಲಿತಾಮ್ |
ಅದೃಶ್ಯತಾಂ ಜನಕಸುತಾಂ ಸುಪೂಜಿತಾಮ್
ಸುದುಃಖಿತಃ ಪತಿಗುಣವೇಗವರ್ಜಿತಾಮ್||16||

ಸ|| ತತಃ ಸ ಕಪಿಃ ದಶಮುಖಬಾಹುಪಾಲಿತಾಂ ಪೂಜಿತಾಂ ತಾಂ ಪುರೀಂ ಅಭಿಪತ್ಯ ಚರನ್ ಪತಿಗುಣವೇಗವರ್ಜಿತಾಂ ಸುಪೂಜಿತಾಂ ತಾಂ ಜನಕಸುತಾಂ ಅದೃಶ್ಯತಾಂ ಸುದುಃಖಿತಃ ಬಭೂವ||

Then that Hanuman having reached and going about that city ruled by the ten headed king in search of Sita was deeply grieved not being able to see the venerable daughter of Janaka.

ಶ್ಲೋ|| ತತಸ್ತದಾ ಬಹುವಿಧಭಾವಿತಾತ್ಮನಃ
ಕೃತಾತ್ಮನೋ ಜನಕಸುತಾಂ ಸುವರ್ತ್ಮನಃ|
ಅಪಶ್ಯತೋಽಭವ ದತಿದುಃಖಿತಂ ಮನಃ
ಸುಚಕ್ಷುಷಃ ಪ್ರವಿಚರತೋ ಮಹಾತ್ಮನಃ||17||

ಸ|| ತತಃ ಜನಕಸುತಾಂ ಅಪಶ್ಯತಃ ಬಹುವಿಧಭಾವಿತಾತ್ಮನಃ ಕೃತಾತ್ಮನಃ ಸುಚಕ್ಷುಷಃ ಸುವರ್ತ್ಮನಃ ಮಹಾತ್ಮನ: ಮನಃ ಅತಿದುಃಖಿತಂ ಅಭವತ್ ||

Then being unable to see Sita with many thoughts on his mind the accomplished Hanuman who always follows right path became very agitated.

ಇತ್ಯಾರ್ಷೇ ಶ್ರೀಮದ್ರಾಮಾಯಣೇ ಆದಿಕಾವ್ಯೇ ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕೀಯೇ
ಚತುರ್ವಿಂಶತ್ ಸಹಸ್ರಿಕಾಯಾಂ ಸಂಹಿತಾಯಾಮ್
ಶ್ರೀಮತ್ಸುಂದರಕಾಂಡೇ ಸಪ್ತಮಸ್ಸರ್ಗಃ||

Thus ends the seventh sarga of Sundarakanda in Ramayana, the first ever poem of mankind composed by Maharshi Valmiki.
